Mission:  Owens Community College believes in serving their students and communities.

Organization Overview: Owens Community College is responding to the demand for qualified office support professionals by becoming one of the first academic institutions nationwide to offer a credit certificate in Virtual Assisting. This new program is designed to teach students how to support and operate a small business successfully.

The Administrative Virtual Assistant Certificate Program instructs students about the areas of web and graphic design, event and meeting planning, Internet research, editing and writing, and word processing. Individuals in this profession can be found applying their virtual assistant skills at consulting firms, small businesses, or with special project coordinators for larger companies.

The one-year certificate program requires approximately 26 credit hours of course work, which includes learning about business law, small business management, e-business and integrated office communications. In addition, students will participate in Owens' Virtual Assistant Coaching Seminars, guided by successful Virtual  Assistants and marketing leaders within the business community.
